Clomid treatments

Dr. Chamoun will prescribe fertility medications when appropriate and necessary based on a patient’s unique fertility challenges. One of the more common fertility drugs is Clomid.

Clomid is an ovulatory stimulant used for the treatment of ovulation dysfunction in women desiring pregnancy. Clomid stimulates the release of pituitary hormones necessary for ovulation to occur. Clomid is an oral tablet usually taken in 5 day cycles. It stimulates ovulation and then intercourse or IUI is timed to coincide with the expected time of ovulation.

70 – 80% of patients with ovulation dysfunction will ovulate on Clomid, and 60 – 70% will get pregnant within six cycles of use. It’s highly effective with few side effects, and therefore one of the simplest and least invasive treatments when lack of ovulation is the cause of infertility.

If you have questions about Clomid or any other fertility treatment, contact the office of Dr. Chamoun to learn more! Your solution to the family of your dreams could be as simple as a prescription away!
